The Holland Simplex TouchLoc system provides an effortless way to unlock fifth wheels.  Operated by air, TouchLoc lets a driver unlock a fifth wheel from the comfort and safety of the cab, with the pull of a dashboard-mounted valve.

TouchLoc’s fail-safe operation will only unlock a fifth wheel if the parking brake is engaged.  This eliminates the possibility of accidental trailer release when the vehicle is in motion.  If for any reason system air is not available, TouchLoc-equipped Holland Simplex fifth wheels can be operated manually.

UNCOMPLICATED OPERATION

Setting the parking brake opens an inversion valve, which allows air to flow to dashboard-mounted TouchLoc control valve.  When the control valve knob is pulled out for a few seconds, air flows to the TouchLoc cylinder, which releases the jaw for uncoupling.

If the parking brake is not set, the TouchLoc air cylinder cannot be activated.  TouchLoc is a pneumatic unlocking system, which does not affect fifth wheel locking procedures.  A TouchLoc-equipped fifth wheel can also be operated manually like any other fifth wheel.
