August 27, 2003 – Holland, MI – The Holland Group, a leading supplier of vehicle connection products and technologies worldwide, announced that it has raised the Performance Guarantee on its FleetMaster and FleetMaster LowLube fifth wheels to 5 years or 500,000 miles. The Holland Performance Guarantee is different than a standard material and workmanship warranty in that it guarantees the durability of the product. In this case, Holland guarantees that the locking system of the FleetMaster fifth wheel will retain the ability to be adjusted to a standard SAE kingpin for a minimum of 5 years or 500,000 miles. “Holland has been reviewing the performance data on the FW8 FleetMaster fifth wheels that have been in service fleets for the past 5-8 years and our analysis concludes that the fifth wheel shows exceptional wear characteristics that merit this increase in the Performance Guarantee,” said Doug Dorn, Product Marketing Manager for Holland’s line of fifth wheels.
The FleetMaster line, which already carried a 5 year or 500,000 mile warranty for Materials and Workmanship, is one of the few fifth wheels that carry a performance guarantee of any kind. “The FleetMaster is a premium fifth wheel,” said Scott Fowler, Fifth Wheel Product Team Director, “and we are so confident in its ability to perform in fleet service that we wanted to express that confidence by increasing the Performance Guarantee. By doing this we are not only telling the customer that this is a well made product, but that it will meet or exceed their durability expectations as long as that fifth wheel is applied properly and maintained in accordance with service specifications.” The increased Performance Guarantee took effect on August 1, 2003.
