March 21, 2003 (Holland, MI, USA) The Holland Group is pleased to announce a new air-ride suspension specifically designed for drive axle applications in bus, motorcoach, and motorhomes. The Holland Neway ADL Series suspension has been extensively lab and track tested to assure unsurpassed reliability and durability for demanding bus applications worldwide.
The ADL design combines exceptional ride quality with high roll stability. An integral Transverse (anti-sway) Beam absorbs up to 85% of roll forces protecting the axle from stress and allows the use of softer, ride quality optimized air springs.
The ADL also features a non-torque reactive suspension geometry that maintains a near constant pinion angle throughout full axle articulation. The ADL minimizes unwanted driveline noise and vibration while effectively increasing the service life of driveline components such as U-joints and pinion bearings. This is especially important for short drive shaft applications common in rear engine applications.
The compact design of the ADL provides bus designers the opportunity to increase usable cargo and equipment space. The shorter overall length and new rigid blade design of the suspension’s Equalizing Beams also helps reduce suspension weight.
The ADL is currently available in a rated capacity of 6,804 kg (15,000 lb.) to 9,072 kg (20,000 lb.), with a pending future release of a 10,433 kg (23,000 lb.) rating.
