THE HOLLAND GROUP RELEASES FW17E FIFTH WHEEL WITH FIVE-YEAR, 800,000 KM PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE
SCHLOSS HOLTE-STUKENBROCK, GERMANY – Global fifth wheel development and manufacturing specialist, The Holland Group, Inc. (Holland), has announced the release of its latest advance, the FW17E fifth wheel, which is delivered with Holland’s industry-best five-year, 800,000 km Performance Guarantee.
The FW17E is built for on-highway use and is up to 16% lighter than comparable competitive products. It is rated at 20,000 kg vertical load with a top plate weight of 85kg, insuring its durability and longevity. The FW17E was developed through a new thin walled steel casting and heat-treating process that provides exceptional performance and outstanding fatigue characteristics along with a 23% reduction in weight over a standard Holland fifth wheel (approximately 20 kg lighter).
The FW17E features Holland’s Best by Design® locking system, which insures improved uptime by providing high coupling protection, a greater kingpin-to-lock contact area and forged/cast steel locks. Other features include Holland’s ergonomic, one-handed, trigger lock, which provides an automatic secondary lock to assure safe operation, and Holland’s patent-pending release mechanism, which utilizes a unique lever arm design to minimize the required pull effort.
The release of the FW17E follows on the success of its predecessor, Holland’s FW17EK, which offers all of the same features and benefits as the FW17E, in addition to Holland’s patented NoLube™ technology, which eliminates the need to apply any grease to the fifth wheel top plate and lock jaws.
Both the FW17E and FW17EK are available with Holland’s new Integrated Low-Weight Slider (ILS) System. When used in combination, this revolutionary system can provide weight savings of up to 60 kg.
